Rodents in Grosse Pointe, Michigan

The only things that are gross about Grosse Pointe, Michigan are the rodents that residents have found in their homes!

My sisters think that it is squirrels since they are all over her yard everyday but I’ve seen a long, hairless rat tail coming out from the water heater and furnace closet. Also the chewing sounds happen around 3 and 4 in the morning. There are rat droppings under the couch and in the window seal so far. My baby\'s onesie was almost completely eaten by the animal, the baby drool and spit up section was completely gone. I have heard chewing under house, in two closets, in the living room and the closet in kitchen. There are holes in the wall of the closet and a hole in a box that was up against the wall in that closet. The kitchen closet door is chewed up and wood chips were left all over in it. There is a hole in the wall under a fridge plugin that is about half way up the wall. They also ate through the fridge cord right where the hole is exposing the wires. Everyone in house seems to be sick on and off for the last three months straight and I think it’s because of the rats.  -Misty N

There are a few burrows in my backyard (grassy landscape, small stones) and I have seen at least one small mouse coming and going from one burrow. I moved into the property in June and noticed these burrows but did not know what was causing them. I have blocked 2 of the burrows but left one open and placed a rat/mouse bait near it. I am assuming the mice will die off eventually and would like the underground dwelling cleared, assuming that is the way to go.           -Brad B

Over the summer we started to hear rats in the attic. We partially removed a possible access point to the roof. The rats eventually gnawed through the window screen and got through there after that. We now hear them in the walls and have noticed holes in the walls where the carpet meets the wall. They have been spotted behind the stove and dishwasher and in three of the bedrooms.         -Brittany A

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Grosse Pointe and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

For pigeon and bird control, bat removal, or relief from other pest animals, call our wildlife management experts. Many nuisance wildlife companies offer critter capture and control; our wildlife operators provide professional pest wild animal management. We remove the following AND MORE:

  • Bats from attics, eaves and belfries

Animal Problems in Grosse Pointe, Michigan

Residents in Grosse Pointe, Michigan are having problems keeping up with the local wildlife.

We heard noise in the flue pipe from our oil burner and could see a bat through the damper. We tried to get it out by opening the damper with a bag to catch the bat but it went further down the pipe and now is in the sealed part of the burner. We took the vent pipe apart to the part just before where it enters the burner and the bat is inside the burner for sure. The emergency switch is off, no heat, but we’re not sure where to go from here. -Linda K

We just had our house painted and now started hearing and seeing a woodpecker drumming on the second floor side of our home by a tree. We have had issues with carpenter ants so this may be why. We\'d like to curb this before it gets any worse.   -Matt W

We have a squirrel who has made himself home over the last couple of years. We have two large walnut trees that he has taken the walnuts and brought them into our attic/roof space. We believe it is only one, but there is a chance there could be more. We are unsure of where he is getting in. We have made several attempts to keep him out. He however has out smarted us thus far.      -Roger H
